Evaristus Bassey has been a Catholic priest serving in Calabar, Nigeria for more than 30 years. He witnessed the launch of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the United Nations in 2015 while serving as National Director of Caritas Nigeria. After eight years of priestly ministry, he enrolled for post-graduate studies in literature at the University of Calabar. He has also done a literary course at Goldsmith University of London apart from studies at CERIS, Brussels, certificate courses in Harvard, Boston and Notre Dame University, Indiana. In a society where the State cares so little for the welfare of citizens, kindhearted family members and religious leaders bear the brunt of poor and vulnerable relatives and citizens. @FrEvaristus has a passion to support educational needs and uses his stories to promote literacy and community building. As one who firmly believes in human solidarity, he spends more than 60% of his income on the needs of the poor and vulnerable within and outside his community. Getting a copy of his novellas or novel goes a long way towards assisting him in his charities.
